PILATES IN THE SPIRIT OF YOU.

Nestled in the forest of Fairport’s Egypt Hills, Crescent Trail Pilates offers a retreat from the outside world. I’m Kate Wheeler, studio owner and NCPT®, and my teaching is dedicated to you. My little studio was grown from my passion for helping others find joy in healthy movement.

Big things can happen in small spaces. As a small practice, we teach one-on-one and groups of four to six. You are the center of attention here.

Crescent Trail Pilates is ideal for those who crave a peaceful change in pace from larger clubs and expensive boutique fitness. While many in the fitness and wellness industry ask teachers and students to fit a mold, we do not. You can be yourself here, no matter how much you change.

Pilates is for every body at any age. Come as you are! Crescent Trail Pilates offers individual and group Pilates training as well as Redcord Suspension training. The studio has two locations: a peaceful, private space in the woods of Fairport, NY, along with an artfully decorated Community Studio space on Rte. 31. Over 85 students of all ages and backgrounds build their strength, stamina, and friendships with us each week. It is important to us that you know you are capable, no matter what challenges you face.

Kate Wheeler NCPT® & Host Advisor for The Pilates Center of Boulder, CO, and TPC trainees Kelly Curtis and Korinne Smith. It is liberating to move through life and sport efficiently. Pilates and Redcord can help! Our edge as teachers is that we lead each person toward change by naming what’s possible and by working hard to meet goals with compassion and courage. In addition to athletes, beginners, and Pilates teachers, we work with clients navigating back pain, joint disease, and injury recovery.

Our teaching is inspired by the unique needs of our students. We teach Pilates with a full suite of apparatus including the Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Tower, Mat, Baby Arm Chair, and more. Leveled classes make progressing at an even pace on each piece of equipment achievable and fun. As of 2026, many services have a waitlist, but we would love to connect about opportunities to work together. You can also work with a teacher-in-training by request!

AN INCUBATOR FOR NEW TEACHERS

This space grew into an incubator for teachers-in-training early on. My approach to mentoring is the same as my approach to teaching. I first make room for the individual. I give everyone here permission to evolve instead of perform. I am proud to say our studio community celebrates the development of new teachers!

The mentees studying here are not expected to replicate me, but to become more themselves as they figure out the direction of their teaching practices. Their growth is meant to expand beyond this space.

Joseph Pilates created his fitness regime almost 100 years ago with the vision for a healthier, happier community.
