Lifelong learning: Eugenia discusses a BIG decision.

I love being a student again! After many years of teaching, I felt I was straying from the Pilates I knew in my heart. There is always so much to learn and I didn’t want to feel stuck any longer. I’ve been following the Taylor Sisters of The Pilates Center for a while, admiring their teaching styles and attending their workshops whenever I can. I am overjoyed to be studying with them officially as a Bridge Program student!

I’m 65. I’m “old...” and because of that I think I have an advantage over my earlier Pilates self. I can approach my training with a fresh pair of eyes but a much wiser brain.

Teaching Pilates is more meaningful to me now than ever since I can reflect and relate to my clients that I’ve “been there” through life’s trials. I can inspire them with my experiences of overcoming hardship. Pilates saved me from chronic pain and gave me a new life. I’m here to give clients the best of who I am so Pilates can change their lives, too.

I love the famous B.B. King quote, “The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.” My decision to start the TPC Bridge program has given me new goals to work toward and achieve. It’s never too late to start learning something new. And it’s possible to get better at the things you think you already know by practicing and looking a little closer.
